The vegetables are fermented by Shiitake mushroom mycelium roots, creating a nutritionally superior, highly functional, and sustainable protein source. Vertical fermentation tanks reduce the need for land, dramatically reducing the carbon footprint usually needed to create protein. The process uses way less water and energy, and reduces carbon dioxide production, making the protein found in B.O.S.S. Bars® as good for the environment as it is for your body. Its neutral flavor means that we don’t have to use a bunch of sugar or artifical flavoring to cover up the taste. In fact, our bars contain no added sugar, and very low amounts of naturally occurring sugar from our superfruits.
